Park Peruvian Irraquoy Show
success in Australia
Progeny Show success in New Zealand
Irraquoy was considered for the prestigious Australian National Auction 2002
as a two year old before he was
bought to come to NZ.
He is a
full accoyo male of magnificent pedigree, great fleece and
he has won a string of broad band show ribbons in Australia.
Now his progeny are doing the same in NZ
with 87 show ribbons. |
Pedigree: Irraquoy is sired
by top accoyo male NWA Ltd Ruffo, who was the number one pick at the 1994 Peruvian Elite Sale and was
purchased by Haldane to be taken into the USA, and subsequently on to Australia.
In
1994 Ruffo was shearing 17.8 micron spin fineness, and is still shearing 24.21 micron
fleece 8 years later.
Irraquoy's dam, ILR Ppperuvian Lupin is also from Peru, via the USA. Every one of her offspring
has been a Show success. She shears 21.8 micron spin fineness at 8 years old.
| So with background like this it is not
surprising to find Irraquoy shearing a dense fleece weight
with the following statistics on his second shear. |
|
Mean micron: 18.0 |
|
SD 3.1 |
|
CV 17.2% |
|
SF 16.3 micron |
|
Irraquoy's third
fleece at 21.6 micron won second in adult fleeces at Mackenzie Show, behind
Brutus, who took Champion fleece. |
|
|
| Irraquoy
has an immaculate show record in Australia. As well as many Champion ribbons at
local shows he has: |
| Reserve Champion Junior Male — Hamilton (Australia)
2000 |
| Champion Junior Male — Royal Adelaide
Show 2000 |
| Champion Junior Male — Strathalbyn
Show 2000 |
| Champion Intermediate Male — Melbourne Wool and
Sheep Show 2001 |
3rd Senior Male - Royal Adelaide Show 2002
The judge said he was "an exceptionally fine male with
superb crimp definition and lustre". |
|
Irraquoy is registered
as solid white, but is light fawn as some spots have developed with
age.

|
 |
 |
|
Progeny: Like
father, like son - and daughter. With progeny like this, we are
delighted in Irraquoy's performance. His cria are
strong, with a real presence.
And they are winning their classes in the show ring with 87 show ribbons, including 15 championships and
4 supreme
championship in both animal and fleece classes.
